Little Pram Planter
This gorgeous little dolls pram came from an auction house in Bakewell, Derbyshire.
The wheels and frame appear to be from an early Tri-Ang model but the wooden carriage was likely made later, around the 1950's. The carriage update was possibly made out of an old cot. It seems inconceivable that the transfer image of a Policeman cat catching a small mouse smoking a cigar would have been an appropriate cot header design, but research seems to point to this origin.
A lot of paint was chipped, flaking off and one cat transfer was badly damaged. This was removed, painted over with a colour matched to the original and a new collage of floral transfers added. The other cat transfer was missing a few details, so these were carefully hand painted back in. A heavy-duty waterproof topcoat followed by a standard satin topcoat match the finish to the original.
The removeable planter allows easy watering and the option to change the plants.
